        When ? 5 months since mars 2021  

        Where ? The intern will mainly be in the premises of the University of Savoie Mont Blanc (USMB), Campus le Bourget du Lac, Savoie. He will make daily or multi-day stays on the CARRTEL Thonon-les-Bains site, site of the internship subject.         Prerequisite ? Initiation to the Carbon budget® method, knowledge of energy in buildings and transport. Tutors: Franck DELBART (CNRS Research Engineer, EDYTEM), Denis BARBET (CARRTEL INRAE ​​Thonon engineer).

Context and objective

CARRTEL (Alpine Center for Research on Food Webs and Limnic Ecosystems) is an INRAE-USMB UMR, the INRAE ​​component being based in Thonon-les-Bains. For this internship, the aim will be to study GHGs from the INRAE ​​lab in Thonon.  

UMR CARRTEL, through its activities, naturally predisposes itself to lead by example in acts of eco-responsibility. Taking stock of its greenhouse gas emissions is the starting point. It will make it possible to identify the activities that emit the most GHGs, and to modify them with a view to achieving carbon neutrality. Concrete proposals should be made in this direction, taking into account the constraints imposed by scientific and engineering research carried out by UMR CARRTEL.  

It should be noted that CARRTEL Thonon has a chemistry laboratory, so there will be a component “chemicals to be taken into account, as well as field activities (samples taken from alpine lakes).  

The trainee will be part of a pool of several trainees based at the USMB who will be based on the Labo1.5 process of the CNRS, which has created its own tool, the trainee will have to compare the results generated by this application and the software “Official”, Bilan Carbone®, V8.5. Of course, the trainee will have to suggest improvements to these tools.

In addition to the classic internship defense, a presentation will take place at CARRTEL Thonon.

Remuneration

The internship gratuity is equal to the legal minimum, i.e. 546 € / month on December 15, 2020.
