In the context of increasing exchange of goods, animals and human, of the “One belt, One Road, One Health” initiative and of environmental changes, our aim is to better understand the host - virus - vector relationships,  in order to better predict and control potential viral emerging zoonoses.

The LIA (Laboratoire International Associé) Zoonotic Emerging Virus "ZOE-V" leans on the collaboration (in place for several years) between the « Alphavirus transmission and Comparative Pathology » team in IVPC UMR754 INRA - Univ Lyon - EPHE and the « Arbovirus interspecies transmission and therapeutics » team in IPS-CAS. Our goals are i) to explore the host factors involved in inter-species transmission and virus-associated diseases in animals and humans and ii) to develop new tools of diagnosis and propose preventive or curative approaches (for present epidemics and possible next outbreaks of zoonotic viruses).
